About Us

Inagh Ark Childcare is a community based, notforprofit, childcare service. We are open from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. five days a week all year apart from the Christmas period.

We offer ECCE, free preschool year and we operate the Government subvention scheme which offers subsidies to children from low income families. We also offer place to children whose parents are in certified training and education or on CE schemes. All the appropriate information can be found on our website or by calling the centre on 065 6836439.

We have very caring, experienced and well qualified staff team who offer a warm, safe and stimulating environment for children to develop and become expert learners.

Inagh Ark Childcare is part of the larger community group of Inagh Development Limited.

Inagh development has been active in the community for many decades and has worked tirelessly for the local community, raising funds for social housing, the new community hall and now looking to fund an elder day care centre.

When funding became available to build new childcare facilities, Inagh Development was approached by the then preschool leader, Bernie Foudy, to ask if they would apply for funding for a purpose built childcare centre. The committee came on board and the rest is history, as they say. The Childcare Centre opened in 2007 and was ‘officially’ opened by the then President, Mary McAleese in 2008.

Bernie Foudy continues to be a very important part of the Inagh Ark Childcare; she has worked in preschool in Inagh for over 20 years.

The childcare centre now employs 15 members of staff on a regular basis and has other staff who cover for staff absences. We have 67 places for children under school age, in reality we have more children actually attending as not all children attend 5 days per week. We also have provision for school age children we offer 20 places and again there are more children attending as not all children attend 5 days per week. Children may be dropped before school and are taken on our school bus in time for the start of the school day. Children are then picked up at 2.00 p.m. and 3.00 p.m. by the school bus and are with us until they are picked up by their parents.
